solve a group conflict

Think about the story and how this conflict came to be. In the story the conflict did not yet get resolved.
We will try to solve the conflict, and we will do it in a structured way, by playing out this conflict in a role-play. Choose five persons to play Ebei, Chris, Pablo, Korir and Mato. The rest of the group will be the audience.
5 steps for solving conflicts in a group
By using the following steps we will resolve this conflict:
Step 1. Clarify the needs:
All the characters of the conflict describe what it is they need (listen very well to each other and remember the “I-messages”;don't accuse each other, but explain to the other person what it is you need.)
Step 2. Identify the main issue:
The audience tries to summarise the conflict’s main issue.
What is this conflict really about? Then the audience comes up with the common solution for the two sides. So one solution that will be best for both sides.
Step 3. Generate alternatives:
The audience tries to list different possibilities to reach this. Come up with ideas, but don't criticise the ideas of others.
Step 4. Evaluate alternatives:
What do the different sides in the conflict like about the ideas? What do they not like? If one side doesn’t like an idea, how could it be improved? Do the ideas meet the needs that were expressed in step 1? Is the proposed method of solving the conflict realistic?
Step 5. Choose a solution:
Together with the group and the main characters, choose a solution. Make sure everyone has the same understanding of the solution.
Now The five characters act out the solution. Try to make it a very lively and expressive scene. Applause!
